Light tan calfskin, rebacked with tan calfskin.
Sewn on five recessed supports that do not correspond to the raised bands on the spine.
10 mm tall, sewn with light green linen thread with a front bead over a laminated vellum core.

Decorative Description:
Blind tooled with a border built up of a narrow triple line fillet and a broad leaf scroll decorative roll. In the center of the cover is gilt the coat of arms of Hudson Gurney. The spine (rebacked) is divided into six panels by raised false bands gold tooled with a leafy vine roll above and below the bands and with a gilt hatched striated roll on top of the bands. The author and title are gilt on a red leather label in the second panel. The volume number is gilt on a black leather label in the third panel. The turn-ins are blind tooled with a decorative roll filled with inner curves.
