Many leaves are stained, damaged, and repaired at the tail, affecting text and direction-lines. Bound with: Shakespeare, William. The second part of Henrie the fourth. London, 1600 (smk STC 22288a Copy 2); bound in blind-tooled calfskin. Provenance: Sir Thomas Twysden copy; inscribed on title leaf verso (i.e. unsigned at end): "These two plays are particularly esteemed by me because they were giv'n me by my Dear Friend ye late Sr Thomas Twysden of Peckam in Kent ..."; Mary (Sandys) Hill, baroness Sandys, copy (inscribed on stationery (tipped in at the back) with the printed address: The Ashes, Hothfield, Ashford, Kent: "This 'History of Henrie the fourth' belonged to Mary, second Marchioness of Downshire')
