Concerning the struggle for control of theaters in London following the Restoration with mention of Davenant and Killigrew and an official demand for lowering the rates at the Cockpit Theatre in Drury Lane (to the rates "as were formerly taken at the Black-fryers, by the Late Company of Actors") and for the right to censor plays.

Dated and addressed at bottom of letter: To Mr. Michaell Mohan and [th]e rest of [th]e Actors of [th]e Cockpitt play house in Drury Lane The 13th of October 1660. Signed: Henry Herbert. Endorsed: Copy of [scored through] [th]e warant sent to the Actors at [th]e Cockpit In Drury lane by Tom Browne the 13 Oct-60.

Last four lines, address and endorsement in the hand of Sir Henry Herbert.
