Endbands-Endbands.

 
  1. Endbands sewn below the height of the text block, sewn with burgundy red, green and white linen thread with a front bead sewn over a twisted hemp cord, laced through the boards (3)
  2. Endbands sewn with brown and white linen thread with a front bead sewn over an alum tawed core, laced into the wooden boards. (3)
  3. Endbands sewn with dark green and white linen thread with a front bead laced onto the boards at the head and tail. (2)
  4. Endbands sewn with thick blue and white cord. The alum tawed core is laced through the boards and the endbands form raised bands on the spine. (6)
  5. Endbands worked with a linen primary sewing over alum-tawed core, tied down through the vellum spine linings, and laced onto the boards, and a secondary sewing in black silk. (2)
  6. Endbands worked with linen thread over tawed core and tied down through each section above the kettle stitch. Secondary sewing in blue and yellow (? - now fragmentary) is stitched through the spine of the covering material, and would have been worked over the head- and tailcaps and endband. (6)
