  13. Evidence of four clasps catching on the back covers (two on the fore-edge and one at the head and tail). The catches are missing but impressions in the leather show that they were triangular rolled edge catches with an ornate stamped design. Straps (missing) were leather reinforced with vellum secured with three iron nails. There is evidence of five round bosses on the front and back covers (missing). (5)
