  1. Elaborate catch plate with chased acorn design (detail), BR65.I8 D4 1605 Cage. (1)
  2. Elaborately gilt in a four panel design. The outer frame is a trefoil topped pointile crested decorative roll then with a hatched bar and oval roll, then a gilt triple line fillet. The first panel is filled with a triangular heart fleuron. The inner panel is framed with two gilt double line fillets with a hatched bar and oval roll. The inner panel is filled with a anthemion and trefoil roll. The inner-most panel is filled with corner designs and center designs made from various scrolls, curl stamps, corner brackets, dots, brush tools, and floral bouquets in vases. The smooth spine is divided into three sections, all framed by a wide border of a trefoil topped pointile crested decorative roll. The three panels are filled with curl stamps, tulip stamps, and rhombus stamps. The board edges are gilt with a single line fillet. The turn-in is gilt with a dog tooth on a line roll. (2)
  3. Elaborately gilt in a Harleian style. The covers are tooled within an outer frame of cats tool roll on a line and a double line with pin dot in-between roll. The design is made up of multiple scroll fleuron stamps and tulip scroll tools. The spine is divided into six panels with the title and author gilt in the second and third panels. The other panels have gilt frames with corner brackets and a fleuron surrounded by hollow dots in the center. The board edges are gilt with a narrow double line fillet. The turn-ins and leather joint are gilt with a frame of cats tooth on a line roll and a rosette encased with fleuron decorative roll. Signed "Bound by Riviere & Son" on the bottom front turn-in. (2)
