  1. Gold tooled in a panel design, the outer frame using a double line fillet with a flower in a vase stamp at the inner angles. The inner frame is gilt with a triple line fillet with a V wave roll gilt on the inside, the flower in a vase tool is gilt at the outer angles, and a single daisy flower is tooled at the inner angles. In the center of the innermost panel is an ornate ornamental composite centerpiece made from several floral tools with dots and rosettes surrounding. The smooth spine is divided into five panels, the second panel is painted black with the author and title gilt, beneath the painted area is the gilt date. The other panels are divided by gilt triple line fillet and v wave rolls with a gilt rhombus shaped berry and cone stamp. The board edges are gilt with the V wave roll. (4)
  2. Gold tooled to a triple panel design of single line fillet with small, five petal flowers at corners. The spine divided into six panels, the second panel lettered with SHAKESPEAR, at the bottom of the sixth panel is tooled LOND: 1623. All other panels are highly tooled with hundreds of small random gilt dots surrounding center ornament made from anemone, columbine and thistle flowers radiating around a rose in the center. Above and below the half bands and at the top and bottom panels is a decorative roll of columbines on a bar with pointille wave interconnecting the flowers. The board edges are tooled with a single line fillet. The inner squares of the boards are first gold tooled with a single line fillet borders with a pointille line and large dot roll border on the inside. A laurel crescent arch topped with a small flower and a star beneath forms another frame with columbine and thistle flower completing the inner most frame. At the corners are a large ox-eyed daisy flower tooled on top of a thin skiver of leather used to mask the miter cut of the corners. (3)

  4. Gold tooled to a two panel design with the frames of the panels tooled with a triple line fillet. At angles in the outer panel is a monogram stamp of WHM. In the center of the inner panel is the gilt coat of arms of William Henry Miller surrounded by a laurel wreath. The spine is divided into six panels with gilt lines and two line pin-head fillet frames. The author and title are gilt in the second panel, London and the date is gilt in the third, all others are tooled with a small gilt WHM monogram. The board edges are gilt with a narrow double line fillet. The turn-ins are gilt with a floret between a tulip topped arc covered rosettes decorative roll, and double line fillet with pin-dot in-between roll and a cats tooth roll. The binding is signed BOUND BY F. BEDFORD in the lower middle front cover turn-in. (2)
  5. Gold tooled to a two panel design with wide spaced blind tooled double line fillet with a single gilt line down the middle. At angles in the outer panel is a large gilt crowned fleur-de-lis stamp. In the inner panel are large gilt blocked corner ornaments, In the center is a gilt center block of a wild boar- the crest of Francis Bacon, Lord Verulam. (3)
  6. Gold tooled to a two panel design, the frames formed by a single blind fillet line with a gilt stylized tulip on a stand decorative roll and a gilt scroll roll. At angles in the inner panel is a tulip flower fleuron. In the center is an unknown ornate Dutch coat of arms, with helmets, jester, phoenix, and ox head above a filled crest. The spine is divided into five panels with the gilt stylized tulip on a stand decorative roll. The author and title is written in ink in the top panel. The other panels have a gilt scroll fleuron tooled in the center. (2)
  7. Gold tooled triple line fillet border frame with the gilt coat of arms of Jacques Auguste de Thou, three gadflies, and his second wife Gasparde de La Chastre stamped in the center. The spine is divided into seven panels. All have been framed with gilt double lines. The author and title are gilt in the second and third panel. All others have the interlaced monogram initials IAGG. (2)

  9. Gold tooled with a double line fillet border with a twelve petal flower tooled at the intersections. The title and author are gold tooled on the top of the front board and the printer and place of publication and date are gold tooled at the bottom of front panel. Spine elaborately tooled in all six panels, with double line frames filled with corner brackets and intertwined center fleuron. Board edges and turn-ins gilt with a covered rosette and daisy fleuron roll. (2)
  10. Gold tooled with a frame around the border made of a single line fillet, with the arms of Michael Wodhull gilt on front cover. The spine is divided into seven panels using a single line pallet. The title, place of publication, and date are gilt in the second and third panels. The board edge is gilt with a single line fillet and the turn-ins are tooled with the intertwining wave curve roll.   11. Gold tooled with a frame around the border made of parallel single line fillets with a leafy S curve roll in-between, with the arms of Michael Wodhull gilt on front cover. The spine is divided into six gilt panels. The title and date are tooled on a green label in the second panel. All other panels are framed with double gilt lines and are filled with a broad leaf corners and clematis on a stem. The board edge is gilt with a single line fillet and the turn-ins are tooled with the leafy S curve roll and a pointille wave roll. (3)
  12. Gold tooled with a panel design created with an out border tooled with a double line fillet. The inner panel is tooled with a cat's tooth, pointille, and single line decorative roll, with a fatter pointille roll inside, a scroll fleuron tooled at angles. The spine is divided into seven panels. The author and title are gilt on a green leather label in the second panel, Venice and 1499 gilt on a red leather label in the third panel. All other panels are framed with gilt corner brackets and rhombus, acorn, and rosette scroll center stamps. The board edges and turn-ins are gilt with a arched rosette between floral spray decorative roll. (2)
