  1. Gilt fillet border and panel with fleurs-de-lis at angles and a semë of the same. In the center of both covers is tooled a galloping horse. A two-line pallet divides the smooth spine into eight compartments each hearing the fleur-de-lis. The edges of the boards are decorated with a single gilt fillet. (1)
  2. Gilt fillet border and panel with thistles at angles and the badge of the Prince of Wales in the center. A triple pallet divides the spine into five compartments each with a small fleuron in the center. (2)
  3. Gilt fillet stopped border and panel with acanthus buds at angles. The blocked arabesque and strapwork centerpiece is worked with a dotted and hatched ground and contains turbanned cherubs. "JOHN SAVILE" is hand tooled in the center on a seme of small stars. A gilt two-line pallet divides the spine into five compartments with a type of console tool stamped in each. (4)

  6. Gilt four panel design framed with a triple line fillet with a center rope design. The outer frame has a dog tooth roll on the inner part of the frame. At the corners is a small gilt solid rosette. In the first panel at angles is a tulip and rosette florets and along the frame are two triangular scroll fleurons. The center panel has a broad leaf scroll and quatrefoil rosette roll tooled inside the inner most frame. In the center is a rondel with the arms of Richard Musgrave (Musgrave de Edenhall). The spine is divided into seven panels. The second is gilt with the author and title; all others are filled with scroll corner brackets, with double anthemion and a six petal rosette within a mandorla center design. The board edges are gilt with a single line fillet. The turn-ins are gilt with a mandorla and fan gilt decorative roll. (5)
  7. Gilt in a panel design with the outer panel tooled with a double line variable width fillet. The inner panel is tooled with a single line fillet. Inside the panel is a double floriated scroll roll with a tulip, thistle and daisy stamp repeated at intervals, with small rosettes and dots interspersed. At angles in the center panel is a gilt fan pattern made of a fleuron with rosettes and dots and tulips. The spine is divided into seven panels. In the second, fourth and seventh panels are red, black, and brown leather labels gilt with the title, volume, printer and place of publication and date. All other panels are filled with a gilt vine roll. The turn-ins are gilt with a double zig-zag and floret roll. Both volumes identical. (3)
  8. Gilt in a simple panel design tooled with a single line fillet. At angles between the frames is a trefoil scroll fleuron. In the center is a gilt ornamental design using cone and acorn over a crescent stamp. The spine is divided into ten panels separated with gilt double lines, in the center of the panels is a floral scroll. (2)
  9. Gilt in a simple panel design. The outer and inner frames are tooled with a triple line fillet. At angles between the frames is a barbed pointille shaft with a fleuron with flowering tendrils built up of multiple tools all around an encircled star adorned vase. The spine is divided into six panels. The author and title are gilt in the second panel. All other panels are filled with gilt frames with leafy scroll corner brackets, and the center tooled with flowering tendrils and tulip stamps with annular dots. The board edges are gilt with a double line and dotted triple line roll. The turn-ins are gilt with a pine cone and daisy decorative roll. (3)
  10. Gilt in a two panel design with the frames tooled with a blind tooled double line fillet with a gilt single line in-between. At angles in the outer panel is a gilt compound rosette floret stamp. The inner panel has blocked gilt corner pieces framed by double lines and filled with an intertwining floral vine with a butterfly and strawberry. In the center of the panel is a large gilt dotted ground strap work and floral work center piece. The spine is divided into seven panels with gilt lines above and below the bands, and at the top and bottom panels. A gilt diamond roll is tooled on top of the bands and at the top and bottom panels and along the board edges. (3)
  11. Gilt in a two panel design with the frames tooled with single line fillets. At angles in the outer panel is a gilt thistle flower. The inner panel has blocked gilt pointille corner pieces. In the center is a is a gilt rhombus shaped centerpiece with an intertwining scroll work with five petal flowers in the middle, capped with an acorn. The spine is divided into six panels divided by double gilt lines. The title is gilt in the second panel. All other panels have a gilt cone with crowning florets stamps. (2)
