  1. Remnants of two fore-edge clasps hinging from the back cover and catching on the top. The two extant catch plates on the front cover are square with a "V" cut along the back edge. They are embossed with an "eye, with dot surround" stamp. The single extant hasp is flared at the end with a rectangular leafy vine embossed stamp at the top with more of the "eye, with dot surround" stamp, and a concentric circle stamp at the bottom. The strap plates are simple thin rectangular plates fastened by three cut brass nails. (2)
  2. Remnants of two fore-edge clasps hinging from the front board catching on the back. Ornamental nails still extant on the front cover and catch plates on the back cover held in place with cut brass nails. Straps are missing but remnants of tanned leather remain under the nails. (4)
  3. Remnants of two fore-edge clasps hinging from the front cover and catching on the back. The strap nails and catch plates are still extant. Five brass corner and center bosses, all with engraved "walking lines" around the perimeter. (2)
