Decorative Description:
Tooled to a two panel design with the frames created with a gilt triple line fillet. At angles in the outer panel is a gilt spiked tulip fleuron stamp. In the center of the inner panel is the coat of arms of Samuel Christy Miller. The spine is divided into six panel with the title and London, 1567 gilt in the second and third panels. All others are gilt with a double line frame with a cats tooth pallet, with corner brackets and the gilt monogram SCM, surrounded by stars and hollow dots. The board edges are gilt with a narrow double line fillet. The turn-ins are gilt with a frame of cats tooth roll and a double line fillet with pin-dot roll in-between. Then with a decorative roll of a encased rosette between spear points and three hollow dots.
