Sewing: 
Sewn on three double raised cord supports and two single raised supports 20 mm from the top and bottom edge and above the kettle stitches.

End Papers: 
Half page paste-down doublures with manuscript waste guards underneath and across the joints.
Closures: 
One single fore-edge clasp catching on the front board with alphabet inscribed hasp and catch. Simple alum tawed strap held with a small brass strap plate. Evidence of chain fastener (two holes) on the back board (missing).
Decorative Description: 
The tawed leather on the boards are framed with a variable triple line fillet border. On the front board the panel is filled with lozenge griffin stamps and small five petal flowers. The back cover is tooled with a row of large rosettes and the small five petal flower. The spine was painted white (Baroque period?) with author and title written on the spine.
