Decorative Description:
|
Tooled in simple panel with the frames gilt and blind tooled, created with a variable width blind tooled triple line fillet, with the outer thin line re-tooled and gilt. At angles between the outer and inner frame at angles is a gilt acorn and four leaf stem stamp. In the center is the gilt Griswold arms. The spine is divided into seven panels with gilt text in the second, third and fourth panels; all others have a cone with crowning florets stamp in the center tooled within a gilt and blind tooled frame. At the top and bottom is a gilt broad leaf on a vine decorative roll. The edges of the boards are gilt with a single line fillet and the turn-ins are gilt with a double line fillet.
