Decorative Description:

The covers are tooled and stained in a traditional pastiche of the "Cambridge Style" design, with gilt double line fillet borders and the inner frames tooled with a single gilt fillet and a blind fern-tip on a line decorative roll. At angles in the outer panel is a gilt fleuron with multiple stems and pointille leaves. The spine is divided into six panels with the title gilt on a red leather label in the second panel. The other panels are filled with gilt corner brackets an oval center ornament with striated oval center and small tools surrounding. The board edges are gilt with a pin-dot decorative roll. The turn-ins are gilt with a broad leaf decorative roll.
