Decorative Description:
The covers were tooled with two blind tooled double line fillets with a single gilt line in-between. In the center of the covers is a large gilt cartouche centerpiece with an oval center surrounded by strapwork and leafy vines on a solid and hatched ground. The smooth spine was divided into eight panels by gilt double lines. The third and fourth panels were later covered by a light brown leather label with gilt author and title. The board edges were blind tooled with a single line fillet.
