The covers are tooled with a blind-tooled double line fillet border frame with a gilt single line fillet in-between. In the center of the covers is an oval centerpiece stamp with strapwork and anthemion. On either side are the initials W B. The spine is divided into six panels by gilt double lines. The center of the panels were gilt with a cone with crowning florets stamp. The third panel is covered by a later burgundy-colored leather label gilt with the author and title.
