Technical Description: 
Sewn on four recessed alum-tawed thongs. Three endpapers on either side, with two stubs 9 mm and 19 mm, and separate pastedowns. Spine rounded and backed. Gilt edges. Blue and yellow tailband (headband now missing). Back cornered boards lined with printer's waste. Lap corners. Remains of two textile fore-edge ties.

Decorative Description: 
Panel and border formed by a single-line cat's tooth fillet, with fleurons at each corner. The panel is decorated with small tools of cornerpieces and fleurs-de-lis. A diamond centerpiece, also of small tools, includes blind stops, a small cartouche, and fleurons. The initials "A L" are gold tooled on either side of the panel. Smooth spine of six gilt compartments, outlined by a cat's tooth pallet, with fleurs-de-lis and cartouche. A pin-head fillet runs around the edges of the boards and the tailcap (headcap now missing). The cat's tooth also decorates the turn-ins.
Other Details: 
The initials "A L" on the covers are evidently those of Anne Lake, of whom nothing is known. This is the only book recorded with her printed ownership label.
