Two leaf signature reinforced with a recycled manuscript vellum guard, on leaf adhered over as the paste-down.

Evidence of two fore-edge ties.
Decorative Description: 
The covers were tooled to a two panel design with the frames blind tooled with a variable width triple line fillet. At angles in the outer panel is a gilt tulip on a leafy base. In the center is a gilt triple acorn bouquet in a vase with the gilt initials T P on either side. The spine is divided into five panels with new single gilt lines above and below the bands and with new title and author and date gilt on black leather labels in the second and fourth panels (not original). In the center of the other panels is a new gilt star stamp.
