Decorative Description:
The covers are gilt with a two panel design, with a gilt double line fillet outer border frame. At angle in the outer panel are gilt lily, carnation, cone, and rosette floret stamps. The inner frame is gilt with a variable spaced triple line fillet and a rosette under a covered arc decorative roll. On the outer edge in the center of each side is a triple carnation, tulip and cone stamp. The spine is divided into six panels each framed with gilt triple lines. The abbreviation of the author and title is gilt in the second panel. The other panels have gilt volute corner brackets, and in the first third, fifth and sixth panels in the center is and oval ornamental stamp filled with annular dots and spear points. In the center of the fourth panel is an indeterminate gilt form (a fish?). The board edges and turn-ins are gilt with a rosette under a covered arc decorative roll.
