Decorative Description:
The cover was tooled with a three panel design with the frames tooled with a blind tooled variable width triple line fillet with one of the lines gilt. The outer panel is filled with a diced quatrefoil decorative roll. At angles in the second panel is a square gilt knot stamp. The inner panel is blind tooled with five rows of alternating cone and crowning floret stamps and ivy leaf stamps. The spine is divided in to six panel with the title and London 1555 gilt in the second and third panels. All other panels are framed with a gilt line and with a gilt rope knot in the center. The board edges are gilt with a single line fillet. The turn-ins are gilt and blind tooled with single line fillets. The binder's signature stamp "BOUND BY W. PRATT" is gilt in the bottom front turn-in.
