The covers are gilt with a corner and centerpiece panel stamp, with a gilt single line outer frame and a double line inner frame. The corners and centers are a strapwork with intertwining leafy vine design. In the open space is a semè of small seven pointed stars. The smooth spine has the original spine onlaid which is covered with a gilt flaming quatrefoil stamp. The board edges were gilt with a diamond decorative roll.
