The covers are tooled with a two panel design. The frames are gilt with back to back staggered pin-dot on a line decorative roll, a gilt arc roll, and a small pointille arc and spear point decorative roll. At angles in the outer panel is a gilt laurel surrounded pineapple stamp. The inner panel is gilt with different size volutes corner design with circles and trefoils. The center shows the scored guide lines used by the binder to position the gilt volutes and laurel surrounded pineapple stamp. The spine is divided into five gilt panels, each is framed by staggered pin-dot on a line decorative roll, and gilt arc roll and a small pointille arc and spear point decorative roll. In the center is an off-center tooled gilt rosette. The board edges were gilt with a pin-dot roll.
