The covers are gilt with a center and cornerpiece panel stamp, with an outer single line border; a double gilt line surrounds the inner panel. The center cartouche is on a hatched ground and the corner designs have a strapwork border and acanthus leaf vine design. The background is filled with a semè of rosette stamps. The smooth spine has four large stamped impressions of a strapwork panel with a center flower and acanthus leaf vines on a pin-dot ground. The head caps are gilt with a hatched design. The board edges are gilt with a triple scored dot and bar decorative roll.
