Alum tawed pigskin.
Sewn on four double raised hemp cord supports laced through the beech wooden boards.
Stuck on wrapped linen thread sewn with a front bead over a vellum core.
Single flyleaf and paste-down.
Evidence of two fore-edge clasps hinging from the back cover and catching on the front cover. The catches are extant as is the bottom hasp and strap. The top hasp is broken but the strap and strap plate are extant. The straps are a laminate of two layers of alum tawed pigskin with two layers of vellum in-between.
The front cover is divided into four panels with the frames blind tooled with a variable width triple line fillet. The outer two panels are filled with a medallion head decorative roll. One head is the Mercury head with wings. The third panel is blank. The inner panel is filled with a fleuron. The back cover is divided into two outer panels that are filled with a medallion head decorative roll. One head is the Mercury head with wings. The center is divided into two squares with small squares in the center connected at the corners with the variable width triple line fillet. The spine is divided into five panels with variable width triple lines tooled above and below the bands. The top panel was covered with a vellum label with the title (only fragments remain).
