Decorative Description:
the covers have a gilt variable spaced triple line fillet border with an all-over design. At the corners are three floral volutes and a fleuron and dots within a 3/4 circle. The same floral volutes are tooled together in the center of the cover around a grouping of four fleuron and dots within a 3/4 circle. The rest of the cover is gilt with leafy and floral stems extending from curled handled vases, with gilt dots filling in the spaces. The spine is divided into six panels with gilt variable spaced triple lines tooled all along the joints and above and below the raised bands. The panels are filled with decorative tooling from portions of the floral volutes. The board edges are gilt with a decorative roll.
