Closures:
|
Remnants of two fore-edge clasps hinging from the back cover and catching on the front cover. Fragment of the top hasp missing and all of the bottom hasp is missing. The top strap plate is also missing. The straps were a laminate of three layers of vellum, the inner layer using recycled manuscript waste.

Decorative Description:
|
The covers are blind tooled with a multiple panel design. The frames are tooled with variable width triple line fillets. The outer panel is empty. The second panel is filled with a figure roll with images of Christ, David, and Paul, on tablets below each: "Salvator," "David," and "Paulus.". The third panel is filled with a medallion head roll, that is used in-between the center panels flanked by panels with anthemion and guilloche rolls. Stamped at head of central panel is "I W P Z R".
