Sewn on two recessed hemp cord supports, not laced through the covers.
Headbands: 
The endbands were sewn on a pink and white silk thread with a front bead sewn over alum tawed cores that were laced through the covers at the joints.
Edge Treatment: 
Colored red.
End Papers: 
Single blank flyleaf and paste down with a tapered folded reinforcing guard underneath.
Decorative Description: 
The covers are gilt with a double line fillet border stopped at the corners with a gilt dot. A large floret is gilt at angles. In the center of the covers is a large gilt coat of arms with the coronet of a of a Royal Prince above a helm and quartered shield. The smooth spine is divided into four panels by gilt double lines. In the center of the panels is the gilt floret. A later inked author and title and the number 351 was transcribed over the spine along with several inked decorative flourishes.
