Decorative Description:
The covers are blind tooled with a three panel design. The frames are tooled with a variable width triple line fillet. The outer panel is filled with a medallion head roll with a winged cherub and floral ornaments some in vases. The second panel is filled with a narrow renaissance ornament decorative roll. On the front cover the inner panel is filled with a panel stamp depicting Prudence, and has black initials W * G* V and the date 1595. The back cover is similar but with the center panel stamp depicting the image of Fortitude. The panel is signed with the initials MW.
