Decorative Description:
The cover are gilt with a two panel design, the outer frame was gilt with a double line fillet, the inner frame has an additional single line fillet. The outer panel has a large floral fleuron with a pare of broad leaves tooled at angles. Descending as tendrils are floral volutes, some of which were tooled too hot and burned the leather. Along the sides is a gilt semicircular floral stamp and at the top and bottom of the inner panel is a triangular floral stamp with cones, with a trefoil at the tips. The spine is divided into six panels, each framed with gilt double lines. The title is tooled on a red leather label in the second panel. All the other panels are gilt with stemmed flowers at the corners edged with a gilt line and with a double leaf cone stamp in the center. The board edges and turn-ins are gilt with a decorative roll.
