Sewn on three double-raised tanned leather supports laced into the wooden boards.
Headbands: 
Original headband on the bottom is sewn with blue and white linen thread with a front bead, sewn over an rolled tanned leather core. The top headband is newer, sewn with a green and white silk thread with a front bead.
Edge Treatment: 
Ink inscription on the fore-edge.
End Papers: 
In the front, there is a fragment of a recycled vellum manuscript flyleaf guard and a recycled printer's waste pastedown. In the back, there is a recycled printer's waste flyleaf and pastedown, with evidence of a vellum reinforcing guard.
Closures: 
Evidence of two fore-edge clasps hinging from the front cover and catching on the back. Only the front strap nails are extant; there is evidence of simple tanned leather straps.
Decorative Description: 
The covers are blind tooled with a triple-line fillet frame around two horizontal panel stamps. The front cover has a Rose panel (Oldham, Plate XLI, RO.21), and the back cover has a Heraldic panel (Oldham, Plate XXI, HE.26).
