Technical Description: 
Sewn on four recessed cords. Plain endpapers and pastedowns. Rounded spine. Brown and natural thread head- and tailbands. The fore-edges of the binding have been given rigid Yapp edges and two green textile ties.

204 x 139 x 41 mm.
Decorative Description: 
Gilt fillet stopped border and panel with acanthus buds at angles. The blocked arabesque and strapwork centerpiece is worked with a dotted and hatched ground and contains turbanned cherubs. "JOHN SAVILE" is hand tooled in the center on a seme of small stars. A gilt two-line pallet divides the spine into five compartments with a type of console tool stamped in each.
