Technical Description:
The text block was sewn on four vellum slips, laced through the boards from left to right. The endpaper construction is two leaves folded and sewn with double short guards, trimmed at an angle not adhered as pastedowns. The edges of the text block were colored yellow. The headbands were sewn in two colors (white and blue) linen with a front bead sewn over a reed core.

The covers are tooled with a triple blind line fillet border, and a double blind line fillet inner panel. Stamped in gilt on the front cover is "EDWARD GWYNN" with a eight petal flower tooled between the names. The gold was cut into a narrow strip and did not cover the type and the lowest parts of the letters remain in blind On the back cover the same triple blind line fillet border and inner double line panel and stamped in gilt the initials "EG". The flat spine was blind tooled with the triple line fillet creating seven panels. Along all the board edges is the gilt egg and lozenge roll.
