Technical Description:
Sewn on three raised leather thongs. Endpapers of printer's waste reinforced by vellum manuscript strips (back endpapers now missing). Rounded spine with backing re-emphasized (probably at time of repair). Tongue corners cut on the boards, which have been slightly cushioned; deep lacing channels visible on the back board. Single clasp with hasp (now missing) hinged from the front board by vellum-lined leather strap; catch plate remains in place.

The front panel of the Virgin, Child, and St. Anne on a bench is within a border containing the arms of the Papacy, the diocese of London, and the City of London. Three nail marks as in Oldham REL.1. The back panel of John the Baptist is within a broad border depicting the Virgin, St. James the Great, King David, and Bathsheba. The initials and mark of Andrew Ruwe appear between David and Bathsheba. Oldham ST 20, but less worn. Both panels framed by a blind three-line fillet.
