Sewn on six recessed alum-tawed thongs. Four endpapers and pastedown. Rounded spine, with vellum spine liners put down onto the inside of the boards. Edges gilt. Head- and tailbands sewn with white and blue silk thread over a rolled paper core. Lap corners.
340 x 220 x 60 mm.
Three gold initials, - R E D, for Richard, Earl of Dorset, deeply impressed on both upper and lower covers. Smooth spine bears 18th-century title label of black goatskin with gilt tooling.
