ART Vol. d98 no.12 and 14 are labeled in the brown ink Roman capitals found on other backings for works by Wright. Two of the drawings have pencil initials in the lower right corner of the item's surface (ART Box W951 no.110 & 116). Some of the items vary greatly in style, coloring, size and degree of completeness. ART Box W951 no.106 is executed in an oval shape.
Notes (Hamnet):

Notes (Hamnet):
History: Several of the items duplicate each other in the scenes they depict. Some are similar in size, style and coloring and may belong to a set or series of watercolors but are grouped here by subject matter. FSL has another watercolor of Falstaff by Wright, which is similar to some of the watercolors noted here, framed and hanging in the Registrar's Office (Falstaff sleeping).
Notes (Hamnet):

ART Box W951 no.106 & 112 were formerly part of ART Inventory 286 (no.21,31), see entry under Wright for 'Comedy and tragedy' for provenance information. ART Box W951 no.107 is listed in the Sotheby sale catalog of the 'Remaining portion of the famous and important collection ... the property of the late John, Lord Northwick ... sold ... 5th of July, 1921'.
