43 133 A Purge to be taken at any time when presently wanted. A dram of Sena; 1/2 a drame of Liquorish Shaved thin. 20 or 30 Raisins of the Sun stoned; infuse these for half an hour in Scalding water and drink it warme as Tea, it is a quick purge. 134 A Purge that workes quick & Safe for any Strong Body ./ 3 dram of Sena, & 1/2 a drame of Salt of Tartar infused over Night in half a pint of Spring Water cold, & strained off the next Morning. 135 For to coole & Nourish after any great Sickness Take of running Water & Milk each 2 Quarts; 1 Calves foot; 6 Figs slitt; 40 large raisins; a little Liquorish; a handful of Hartshorn; a few Marygold flowers; Boile this from the 4 Quarts to 2 Quarts. & take a Coffey Cup of it 2 or 3 times in a day. 136 The Almond Caudle . Blanch 1/2 a pound of Almonds, & beat them very fine with a little White Wine, then put a Quart of White wine to them & strain it through a cloth strainer. have boiled in a pint of Water a role of Bread with a blade of mace & bitt of Lemmon pele. Boile it till it is thick; then put the Wine & Almonds to it & let boile up & sweeten it to your taste & squise Lemmon in it./
