56 a corse cloth twice a day dresse it. ^ 194 A sodaine remedy for the wind Collick P Take a quantity of hempseede, bruise it straine it and put it into a good draught of bear and drinke it when you are in paine ^ 195 A Preparatiuve P Take 3 quarts of water, 3 parsley rootes 3 fennill rootes, & take the pith out of them one handfull of liuer wort, 1 handf ull of Endiue, 1 handful one Succory 1 handf ull of harts tongue, germander, and scabius of both a hand f ull 1 handf ull of vnsett hisope, Penerioyal and Marigold leaues of both a handf ull put all these into a close pipkin, and lett it boile vntill it come to a quart, then straine it and put in it 12 ounces of wine vineger and soe take euery morning and euening a good draughte warme ^ 196 A purge P Take a dram and and halfe of Rubarbe slice it very small put it into a draught of clarified Ale or thin broth with halfe a spooneful of Annisseedes & a little sinna m o n and lett it infuse ouer the fire al night. ^ 197 A sirrup for the cough of the Lungs P Take 2 or 3 rootes of parsley 2 or 3 rootes of fennill, and a little vnset hisope & boile them in a quart of strong ale, to halfe a pint then straine it put in one ounce and halfe of browne suger candy & 2 spoonesf ull of English hony then boile it a little againe & it will be a sirrup take a spoo n f ull of this morning & Euening or when you thinke good & this sirrup will by the grace of g o d help them though they be very weake.
