43.p r e sently white to admirac i on, and the gumms will close; keep it close Stopped. Black Ink M rs Archers receits Rx rain water one pound and half galls three ounces bruise them very small & put them into the water, to let them stand two days in the sun, then put to it two ounces of roman vitriol in powder, mix all well together with a fig tree stick, let it stand two days more then put in one ounce of gum arabick that is clear and bright in powder, one ounce of pomgranate peel, then boil it a little and strain it; this is a very good black ink A Powder Ink. Rx Peach apricock & Almond stones with their kernels in them, calcine them till they be red hott, then take them out and keep them in a pan; then take some smoak of the rozin of the pine which you may have at the printers; one part coals of the said stones, another part of vitriol, a part of fryed Galls, two parts, gum arabick four parts; powder them altogether and sift them finely, keep this powder very close for use; if you mix a little here of with water or vinegar you will presently have good Ink.
