Time, Balme, penny Royall, sorrell, Collenbine, watercress,
Lauender, Angellica, Germander, Callamint, Tammarice
coltsfoot, Rosemary, scurvygrass, scabious Eg[?]uymony, Eringo
Valerian, saxafrage, pimpernell, Vervin parsly, Mother
of time, wild Marjoram, Common wormwood, Cardus
pellitory of the wall, feild dasies rootes leaues &i flowers
of each of these a handfull, Rue, yarrow, plantien
Camomile, Maiden hair, sweet Marjorum, of each of
these a handfull, Red Roses, of Cowslip flowers, Rosemary
flowers of each halfe a peck, of Anyseeds, parsley, Fennell
Carraway seeds of each two drams, Nutmegg, Ginger,
Cinnamon, long pepper, cloues Mace of Each two drams
spicknard, Ellicampane rootes, Mellilott flowers, Callamus
Aromaticus, Cardimum Licqourish, Lignum Alloes, Ruburb
sliced thin, zedory Cubebs two drams of each, Iuniper
berries one dram, Aromaticum Rosatum three drams
china roots one Ounce sasaperilla one Ounce, wash
all these dry them in a Cloath, & put them Into Two
Earthen potts in the Midst put the seeds spices and
druggs being first bruised, then put to them sherry Sack
to Cover them, lett them stand Twenty fower howers
stop them put one pott into the Alembick, draw a quart
of the strong spirrit & a pinte of the small; doe by the
other pott likewise mix the two first quarts & putt in these
following Cordialls, Bezar, thi[?]rty graines, of Musk And
Ambergreece of each Twenty fower Graines, Corrall
perpared & Mother of pearle of each two drams, white
Amber prepared one Dram; Burnt harts horne prepared A
spoonfull white sugar Candy one pound, A bagg of saffron
stop & wax the Glass close, If that the first two quarts be
too strong you may add the other quart adding the
Cordialls proportionably

To make a Cordiall Water
Take a Gallond of white wine, & put to it an ounce
of saffron, pull it Into peices, put them into an Earthen pott
& lett them stand a day, & a night, then putt them Into a still,
past It close, keepe a pritty hott fier, then take the first water
bottle it vp with loafe sugar, & likewise the second, take a wett
Towell, & lay It vpon the head of the still, & when It is dry
wett It Againe
Mrs. Hermons Cordiall Water
Take 2 bottles of White wine 3 pints of strong Morch
-beer if you can get it, else Ale. then put to it good hand full
of Mint, of baume, of sage of white pepper whole, two
nutmeggs in gross peeces 8 or 10 Races of Ginger cut into
thin peeces, put in likwise A hand full of cloves, another
of mace, A large stick of Cinamon, 2 handfulls of [car?]
Carriway & as many of Coriander seedes, put all these
into the wine & ale in an earthern Vessell covered as close
as may be, let them steep two day's but stirr them
sometimes. then put all into and alembeck with half
A pinte of brandy, paste your still verey close, & keep
it as cool as possible with water & wet cloths. you may
draw of two quarts with mix together & sweeten it
Then open your Alembeck. & put in two quarts of very strong
drink, & you may draw of above 5 pints more of A very
pretty sort of water which sweeten to your taste

Tormentill dragons pimpernell ffetherfew, burnett wood sorrell, Angellica
of each of these herbs you must take half a pound, snake-roots called
Billingham or Bilster roots a pound Elicampain scraped pound, butter
-burs roots by some called Burrdock halfs a pound Cardus half a pound
Cowslip flowers half a pound, panises halfe a pound, purple wort A
quarter of a pound, you must shred the herbs small scrape & sclice the
